SMS Terms & Consent

Last updated: August 12, 2026

Who we are

Rivet is construction management software for contractors, operated by Rivet at getrivet.io. Contractors use Rivet to manage estimates, crew schedules, safety certifications, and tools. Text messaging is used only to notify people about work they are already involved in — it is never used for marketing, promotions, or advertising, and we never sell or share phone numbers with third parties for their own marketing.

How consent is obtained

There are exactly two ways a phone number starts receiving messages from Rivet.

1. You turn on SMS notifications in your own account

Signed-in users enable SMS notifications in their account settings and enter their own phone number. The consent language — including message frequency, that message and data rates may apply, and the STOP and HELP keywords — is displayed next to the toggle at the moment it is switched on. Turning the toggle off stops the messages.

2. Your employer invites you to their Rivet account

An administrator at your own company may send you an invitation by text using a number you previously gave them as your work contact. Before sending, the administrator must affirmatively confirm on screen that each recipient has consented to receive text messages from their organization through Rivet. This is a single transactional invitation containing a join code. If you are not expecting it, reply STOP and you will receive nothing further.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends entirely on your work activity. Most recipients receive fewer than five messages per month. Rivet does not send recurring scheduled messages, newsletters, or campaigns — every message is triggered by a specific event such as an invitation, a schedule being published, or a certification approaching its expiration date.

Cost

Rivet does not charge you for text messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

How to opt out — STOP

Reply STOP to any message from Rivet to stop all further messages to that number. You will receive a single confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and nothing after that. Opting out is immediate and permanent for that number until you opt back in.

Reply START to resume messages if you opted out and change your mind. Signed-in users can also turn SMS notifications off in their account settings at any time.

How to get help — HELP

Reply HELP to any message for support information, or contact us any time at support@getrivet.io. You can also reach us through the contact page.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to your carrier's network availability.
